Hello!

MY NAME IS ANJI

As a professional artist and teacher, I paint in watercolor, acrylics, and oils and I also specialize in portrait sketches, family portraits, and caricatures. My work has been featured in group shows in Canada, Barbados, and England. I am honored to have participated in the Liguanea Fine Art Festival in Kingston, Jamaica.

I currently teach the IB Visual Art Diploma at Hillel Academy High School and have a studio in Stony Hill where I am working on painting and ceramics. I enjoy make functional pottery and using my own sculpted figures for mixed-media installations.

I am a graduate of the Jamaica School of Art, where I specialized in graphics, book design, illustration, and bookmaking. An early dream of mine was to be a preschool teacher, so after graduating from the Art School I trained in Montessori pre-school education and was the teacher/owner of “The Play School" where art and crafts were the focus.

Those experiences led me to illustrate many books for publishers of school books and fiction writers and authors of self-published manuals. I have self-published ten Art Lesson books for children aged between 2 and 12.

My body of work is diverse, including watercolor floral compositions, seascapes, and landscapes. I have exhibited in solo and group shows at the Jamaica Pegasus Gallery, Pollyanna Gallery, Olympia Gallery, Grosvenor Gallery, and the National Gallery of Jamaica, as well as in many group exhibitions, some with the Jamaica Guild of Artists.
